After a courageous battle with bladder cancer, DIANA TAYLOR, a resident of White Rock, NM passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the age of 67.
She was born on May 5, 1951 in Las Vegas, NM and was the eldest of five children born to Donald and Sylvia Ortega.
She grew up in Las Vegas and graduated from Robertson High School. She attended college at Highlands University earning a Bachelors degree in education. She married Steve Taylor on December 21, 1983.
After a short time living in Denver, CO, Diana and Steve moved to Los Alamos to be near their family where she worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory. Although she was unable to have children of her own, she loved and adored her nephews and nieces like they were her own children.
Diana is lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, bubbly personality, infectious smile and had a true compassion for every person she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Sylvia Ortega; nephew, Brandyn Ortega and brother-in-law, Pete Garcia.
Diana is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steve Taylor; siblings, Joanne Garcia of White Rock, Rozanne Beichler (Rick) of Albuquerque, Suzanne Phillips (Andy) of Idaho Falls, ID and Andrew Ortega (Heather) of White Rock. She is also survived by her aunt, Nellie Howes of Socorro, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A rosary will be recited on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated immediately after at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos. The reception will follow the services at the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to honor Diana make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family of Diana Taylor has entrusted their loved one to
