Obituary

Charles Wisehart Jr., 84, beloved father, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 19, 2019. He entered this world on August 26, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, IA, born to Charles and Gladys Wisehart. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Billie J. Wisehart. He is also survived by his children, Scott Wisehart and wife, Paula, along with their six children and 21 grandchildren; Billie Lang and husband, Dean, along with their four children and 14 grandchildren; Terry Vance and husband, Craig, along with their three children and one grandson; and Shane Wisehart and wife, Kimberly. He dearly loved his family and always looked forward to seeing them.
Chuck lived in many of the western states while growing up. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he enrolled in Palmer Chiropractic College where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He worked as a Chiropractor for over 45 years, most of those years being in Los Alamos and Oklahoma. He loved his patients and relished seeing them return to health.
He served in various civic clubs, including Masons, Shrine Club, Scottish Rite, Jaycees, and Kiwanis. He also served in leadership positions in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Cub Master and Scout Master. Chuck was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and became a member as a teen while living in Oregon. He served in many callings in his almost 70 years as a member of the church. He had a very strong love for and testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ.
He loved to fly and was in a flying club when living in Oklahoma. He earned his pilot's license for small aircraft. He loved searching for rocks and minerals, and wanted to someday make jewelry. He enjoyed metal detecting. He also excitedly looked forward to the annual father and sons camp out with his fellow church members. He loved going to movies and especially enjoyed John Wayne and science fiction. He was also a great cook and loved to eat good food.
