Jerome Timothy Rowen died peacefully in his sleep in Carrollton, TX on February 15, 2019. He was born on May 15, 1928 in Cleveland, OH to Stanley and Sophie.
Jerome served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1949 – 1952. He worked for the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory as a Plastics Technician from 1952 through retirement in 1987. Jerome came to Northern New Mexico for a month of fishing with his brother, fell in love with the area, moved to Los Alamos and stayed for the next 41 years. There he met his wife, Edith Swenson at a social mixer and married her in 1958. Together, they raised two sons. Jerome enjoyed fishing and hunting in the Northern New Mexico Lakes and mountains. Camping with his family was a favorite pastime in the camper he built for his truck. Jerome enjoyed the company of the many dogs he took in and made part of his family. He was an avid outdoors¬man and cherished the people he crossed paths with. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and infant son, Mark. Jerome is survived by sons, Peter of Carrollton, TX and Bruce (Shawn) and David of Socorro, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday March 4, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
