Cletus Arthur Reincke

Lancaster - Cletus Arthur Reincke, 88, passed into eternal life on March 28, 2021, at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.

Clete was born on April 7, 1932, to the late Delmar C. and Iva (White) Reincke in Postville, Iowa. He joined the US Army after high school and served during the Korean War.

Clete married the love of his life, Leola "Mardelle" (Frazier) Reincke on April 10, 1953. For several years he owned and operated his own Upholstery Business in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In 1965, Clete moved his wife and three children to southern California. He was employed by Sears & Roebuck and quickly became their top salesman in the furniture department and stayed at the top for 25 years. He was a hard worker and a very constant and steadfast man.

He retired in 1990 and he and Mardelle moved to Lancaster, Ohio to be closer to family.

He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all his heart. He will always be known as the patriarch of his family for generations to come. His hobbies included reading, hunting, bowling, playing cards, and baseball.

Cletus was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, and 3 children. Debra (Eric) Wig and Sherry (Jim) Morris, both of Lancaster and Steven (Nancy) of Goodyear, AZ. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Clete was known for his gentle spirit, his generous heart, and his loving-kindness.

Dignity Cremation has taken place by Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.

The family of Cletus wants to thank all the staff at Mt. Carmel East and the Pickering House for all their care and kindness during his last week here on earth.

Uncle Clete was one of those wonderful people who gave from his heart in thoughtful and unselfish ways, so willing to share, help out, or be there... always a smile and a joy and a pleasure to be around. He touched the lives of all those blessed to know him and love him and will be missed by all. He leaves behind the best legacy of all...a wonderful family.
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
