Deputy Mark Hemsworth

Lancaster - Deputy Mark E. Hemsworth, age 57 of Lancaster died Mar. 26, 2021 at FMC. He was born to the late Ralph and Willetta Mock Hemsworth in Lancaster on Dec. 24, 1963. He was a current Deputy with the Fairfield County Sherriff's Department who had a lifelong law enforcement career. He was a Criminal Justice Instructor at Hocking College. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and his personality and wit will always be remembered.

He is survived by his siblings, Scott (Cheryl) Hemsworth, Terry (Jan) Hemsworth, and Debbie (Wayne) Cutright; sister-in-law, Pat Hemsworth; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve Hemsworth.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM. On Wednesday there will be one hour of calling prior to a funeral procession that will be leaving at 10:30AM from the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, processing by the Fairfield County Sheriff Dept. and arriving at Floral Hills Memory Gardens for a graveside service. Caring Cremation ™ will follow the graveside service. Due to Covid-19, social distancing must be maintained, and masks are required. Donations can be made in Mark's name to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, Oh 43130 or to the National Kidney Foundation , 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr. suite 215 Columbus, OH 43231. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com

When I worked with Mark years ago at the Sheriffs Office he was always willing to help if there were questions. He was always smiling and making others smile. Such a great man! You will be missed but not forgotten!!
