Mary Spires Obituary
LANCASTER: Mary E. "Rita" Spires, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her home with loved ones by her side.
She was born on October 19, 1928 in Holland to the late Hubert and Anna Creusen. Rita was a member of St. Bernadette Church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Tom Spires; daughter, Wanda Rose (Spires) Anders; grandchildren, Lance Alspaugh, Kyra (Kevin) Weber, Jennifer (Erick) Smith, Adam (Tiffiny) Hollett, and Amanda (Jason) Lentz; 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann (Spires) VanMeter; one brother; and one sister.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 24 at 10:30 AM at St. Bernadette Church with Fr. Thomas Kessler as Celebrant. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 23 from 4-8 PM at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fisher Catholic High School in memory of Rita.

I am so sorry to hear of Rita's passing. It was always a joy spending time with her when all the friends and relatives from Holland would get together at my in-law's home. She will surely be missed by many. Much love to the Spires family.

Gary Creusen - So sorry to hear the loss of a loved oned. Aunt Rita was to me always a very energetic and happy lady. As a kid I always looked forward to seeing her and spending time and as I got older always enjoyed listening to her stories of the good old days. I want to come and pay my respect but need to get time away from work. Sure hope it works out for me to visit.
