Dale "Dick" Huntwork
PICKERINGTON: Dale "Dick" Huntwork, age 94, of Pickerington, died peacefully Wednesday, December 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born October 25, 1922 in Pickerington to the late Brooks and Bessie Huntwork. He was a graduate of Pickerington High School; a member of Peace United Methodist Church, and South Gate - Potter Masonic Lodge 0782. Dick served our country in the United States Air Force during WWII, as a pilot of a P-51 Mustang. He retired from State Auto Insurance after 35 years of work. Dick was a former Mayor of Pickerington and the dedicated developer of Huntwork Gardens. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Huntwork; son, Richard "Dick" Huntwork; brother, Gilbert Lyle (Mary) Huntwork; Dale is survived by his children, Mark (Carla) Huntwork, Loraine (Timothy) Stump; daughter-in-law, Anne Huntwork; grandchildren, Matthew Huntwork, Nathan (Jo Ann) Huntwork, Mark (Barbara) Huntwork, Dick (Alyssa) Huntwork, Brooke (Matt) Schrader, David Stump, Jill Stump; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit 4-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, OH 43147, where a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Barb Parrot, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, with an hour prior visitation. Interment to follow at Violet Cemetery. I am so sorry for your loss. I knew something was wrong when I stopped seeing him visiting the cemetery each day. He is with his sweetie now, forever! My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. He was a great man!
