Phillip Lavaughn ""Jack"" Milford was born July 18, 1925, and passed through heaven's gates Oct. 26, 2014, at the age of 89 to be with his late wife of 61 years.
Jack was born to Lillard and Lessie Taylor Milford in McNary County, Tennessee. In 1950 he took the hand of Faye Guiling. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and of the Baptist faith. He retired from Kentucky Stock Yards as manager. He enjoyed above all his family, friends, and farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Una Guilin Milford; a daughter, Doris Milford; a grandson, Christopher Wade Clodfelter; and a great-granddaughter, Cassandra Sund.
He is survived by four daughters, Nettie Davis of Lake City, Florida, Phyllis Milford of Hodgenville, Kaye (Roy) Clodfelter of Lake City, Florida and Sherry Osteen of Live Oak, Florida; one grandson, Todd (Michelle) Milford of Hodgenville; a sister, Doris Brown of St. Charles, Missouri; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Oct. 29, 2014, at William R. Rust Hodgenville Chapel with Chaplin Tim Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in New Horizen Fellowship Cemetery in Glendale.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, and continue after 9 a.m. at the funeral home until time of service.
