Benjamin L. Vásquez, 73, of Chacon, N.M., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 at his home.
He was born to parents Eusebio Vásquez and Dora Ortiz on Jan. 31, 1945 in Vancouver, Wash. He was a member of El Rito Presbyterian Church; he was part of the Chapman Masonic Lodge No. 2 A.F.M. and part of the Kiwanis International.
He is preceded in death by parents Eusebio and Dora Vásquez, nephews Amalio Vásquez and Homero Capetillo and sister-in-law: Carol Vásquez.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Vásquez of the family home; daughter Nadia Vásquez (Aaron Jaramillo) of Albuquerque, N.M; grandchildren Ramona Dora Vásquez-Jaramillo and Aria Vásquez-Jaramillo, both of Albuquerque; brothers Edmundo Vásquez (Jane Atkins Vásquez) of Pasadena, CA and Floyd Vásquez (Emilia Vásquez) of Albuquerque, N.M. and father-in-law Irenio Martinez of Chimayo, N.M.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, 2 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, N.M., with Shirley Sandoval as officiant.
