Pauline (Montoya) Baca, 72, of San Juan, N.M., passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Dec. 26, 2018.
She was a lifelong resident of San Juan and was an active member of San Miguel Del Vado church and an active member of her community.
Pauline was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, Godmother and friend.
She is survived by husband, Gabino Baca, Sr., her sons: Gabino (Gabby) Baca Jr., Arthur Baca (Farah), David Baca (Janel); and her daughter Paula Quintana (Sebastian); and her special nephew, whom she helped raise, Julian Montoya.
She had eight grandchildren: Noel Lucero (Anthony), Nicholas Baca (Ariel), Lyneah Madrid (Matt), Kevin Baca (Desiree), Alysia Quintana (Brandon), Jonah Baca, Jayna Baca, and Olivia Quintana; 10 great-grandchildren: Aubryanna Baca, Amaziah Madrid, Elias Baca, Abigail Lucero, Analeiya Madrid, Anastasia Madrid, Arianna Baca, Sophia Lucero, Zoey Baca and Mason Wier.
She is also survived by her sisters: Flora Gallegos (Ray), Norella Ortiz (William) and Rose Baros (Everett).
She is preceded in death by her father, Augustine Montoya; her mother, Mariquita Jiron; step father, Nabor Jiron; her brother, Gilbert Montoya; sisters Lila Aguilar, Nancy Lucero and Feliz Gallegos; and special family, whom she helped raise, Pedro Cobos and Erminio Padilla.
Pauline will be remembered most by her beautiful smile and kind heart. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
The recitation of the Holy Rosary was set to be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at San Miguel Del Vado Catholic Church in Ribera, N.M. The Mass of Christian burial was set for Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, 10 a.m., at San Miguel Del Vado with Interment to follow at San Juan Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass.
