Steve Jordan Obituary

Steve Paul Jordan, 55, a longtime resident of Gallinas Canyon, N.M. passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
He was born in Cleveland, Miss. on Sept. 17, 1965 to Donald Joseph Jordan and Clara Benavidez Jordan.
A Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, N.M.
Steve served in the United States Marine Corp where he traveled the world after graduating in the top of his platoon at boot camp.
After returning home, Steve became a beloved UPS man in the community where he gave, as he said, 110% every day. Steve lived life large, as he would let you know, regardless if you were his lifelong friend or new to the community. The gate to his home was open to all, a place where you could share your life with him. He truly loved to experience life with people and bring them together. Steve had a way of creating relationships with people where he would make you feel like the most special person in the world.
He extended his family by taking in those in need as a Foster parent, doing all he could to improve each child's life that made their way to the family home. With the Fraternal Order of Eagles, he served as President of the organization and gave his all to create a thriving and welcoming organization. Steve loved to work around the Jordan Ranch in Gallinas, his special home and piece of paradise. He enjoyed rides with his wife on his Harley, skiing with his children and their many friends, evenings with his brothers and sisters, Sunday mass with his father, praying with his mother and sharing his love with those willing to accept it.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Avedona and Miguel Benavidez; paternal grandparents, Fran "Mimi" Manley and Andrew "Lucky" Jordan; his California mom Claudia Provost; uncles, Benjamin and Bobby Benavidez, Jimmy and Rocky Jordan, and Lloyd Hickman; mother-in-law Tillie Gonzales; special friends, Sean Peres, William "Billy Jack" Reeves, Eric Ortiz, Stephen Sanchez, Maria Paiz, and Lacy Houdek.

I was a classmate of sister Donna, who was also always kind, and of course since the whole family looked alike, you felt if you knew one you knew them all! I´d see him in his UPS uniform and in Gallinas Canyon and was glad he did well for himself. My husband is a UPSer too, so I know how hard they work. We would ask how he was doing. We just moved back and are so sad he has died so young, but we have hope he will wake up to a paradise earth just like Gallinas without pain and with the hope of life the way God originally intended it to be.

I knew Steve Jordan as he was my neighbor when I lived in Gallinas Canyon. He was a very kind man who cared and loved his wife and children. When you saw Steve and his family you knew life was worth living.

Condolences to his wife and children and his father JD Jordan and Lucy Kemm and his mother Clara Jordan and Mike Maestas. I’m so sorry I didn’t attend his service since I live in Pueblo, Colorado and was unaware of his passing. He is with the angels now and resting in peace. I will never forget his kindness and smile.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I will always remember when Stevie took me for a ride around his block on his motorcycle. It was my very first time riding on one. I was so afraid to get on, but you assured me that I would be fine and that I was in good hands. I trusted him wholeheartedly and off we went laughing along the way. I will love you and miss you always.RIP Stevie❤

So many funny memories, best one we first met by accident you scared me when G&G lived in Albuquerque and we both came around a corner in the apartment complex and I knew Gary was in shower. I was like how´d he get outside and we laughed and the years of staying friends and laughs kept alive with our chats via snap and FB posts. Your love for Jesus and family/friends was always a priority. Thank you for being in my family and life as you made it brighter and kept it light laughing hard and tight hugs are my best memories. Rest In Peace in God´s arms.
Deepest condolences to the Jordan family and all those who loved Stevie
