Tony di Milo Obituary

di Milo, Tony August 1, 1925 - December 16, 2011 Tony di Milo passed away in Northridge, California on December 16th, 2011. He is survived by brothers Pat and Carmine, his son Michael, step-daughter Pauline, and niece Michele. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tony attended Ohio State Univ., before moving to Los Angeles in the late 1940's to pursue a career in acting. Tony studied at the Pasadena Playhouse, where he met many of his lifelong friends. Years later, Tony served on the Playhouse board of directors, and was part of the alumni association. After his playhouse days, Tony was part of Minsky's Follies, and played straight man for Pinky Lee at the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas. His first movie role was in 1958, subsequently getting bit parts in both T.V. and film. Tony later worked in the executive offices of Hawaii Five-O, as well as practicing as a real estate broker. Friends and family members remember Tony for his sense of humor, positive spirit, and willingness to help others. He regularly donated to many environmental and humanitarian organizations. Tony touched people, leaving a lasting positive impression. His doctor once explained that Tony was like a wave of optimism and energy, lifting the spirits of everyone in the waiting room, each time he visited. A memorial service and reception will be held on January 14th, 10:00am at the Pasadena Playhouse, 39 S. El Molino Ave. Pasadena, CA 91101. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Pasadena Playhouse or your favorite charity.

I first met Tony in 2003, but he was one of the most sincere, open, generous and genuinely funny people I've ever met. I could listen to his stories for hours and he always knew how to lift your spirits. "Think the good thoughts" he was always fond of saying. I'll try Tony. And you keep doing the same. I'm sure you're already making new friends and are the life of the party.
