I knew Mary Alice when she lived in Palo Alto, California in the 1970s. I also visited her in Beverly Hills California. She is very missed. I send my condolences to the Ruff family and many friends.

I tried calling her today for her birthday and found out the phone was not working. Started searching. She was one of the most interesting woman I ever met. I moved from Watertown NY to Los Osos, Ca. I had the pleasure of knowing her mom Alice, brother Kurt and many of the kitties. We took care of Joey the cockatiel after Alice passed away.
I moved away from there in the mid 90s but we always chatted on birthdays and New Years for sure. There was always a few random calls throughout the year also. When I did not connect at New Years, I had a feeling.
The wit and knowledge she shared will always be remembered. She had the best laugh too!! I know how proud she was of her nieces and their families.
You will be missed M A, give your folks and Kurt a big hug from me.
I love you sweetheart!❤ Kim Sly

Mary Alice smiled with her whole face and her eyes would just glisten. That is how I'll remember her. May she now be happily among lots of pets!

The Class of 1959, Attica Central School, remember Mary Alice fondly. We have missed seeing her all these years, although Ann King Verme has kept us informed about her LA life. So sorry her last few years were so difficult. Rest in peace, Mary Alice.
