April 30, 1924 - April 15, 2017 The Rosenberg Family sadly announces the passing of their Mom, Ann Rosenberg. Born into an immigrant family in Chicago, Mom began her life as Anna Dishkin. The middle of three sisters, the family moved west to Boyle Heights in 1925. A graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1942, Mom married our Dad soon after graduation and together they had four children. Los Angeles residents nearly all their early lives, Mom and Dad eventually moved their growing family to Torrance in 1950. Working tirelessly to help support and raise their children, Mom worked for many years as a teller with Bank of America, and later as a classified ad writer for the Daily Breeze. Mom leaves behind her children, Fred, Marc (Sherry), Eric (Michelle), Phyliss (Jim); and her sisters, Sylvia Sheftel and Jean Kay. She also leaves behind her former daughter-in-law, Lilli Rosenberg. Mom was Bubbie to seven grandchildren, Josh (Sarah), Shayna (Adrian), Solomon (Misty), Colin, Isaac, Agustin, and Rachel; and to six great-grandchildren, Isobel, Sora, Jack, Jayden, and twins, Gideon, and Romy. Mom also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Sid. Toward the end of her life, Mom contended with a vicious and unrelenting illness. The brave and determined woman she was, Mom rallied after every hospital admission. The family wishes to express their appreciation for Mom's longtime caregivers, Jane Inoke, Mercy Flores, and Cathy Bulasa, and for the first responders from Station 4 of the Torrance Fire Department.

Auntie Ann as we called your mom will be missed. Both your mom and dad were always so loyal to my mother Betty and father Dick. They were such good friends. I used to enjoy our visits at your home and them at ours. Although I did not see much of all of you Phyllis, Fred, Mark and Eric, I could see what wonderful adults you have become seeing you again at mom's funeral. Her service was so lovely. I remember mom mostly visiting me after my children were born. Always present, always kind, and always caring. So glad she shared her life with us. Toni (Shroeder) Spencer.

Phyllis ("Sophie"), Fred, Mark, and Eric... It was so good to see you and your family. Wonderful memories of you and your folks (and mine) are tugging at my heartstrings. "Auntie" Ann's service today was lovely. She always reminded me of the beautiful movie star Nanette Fabray! She was so fortunate to have you in her life. Love to all.

Ann and Sid, two of my favorite people! SO gracious, so interested in all that was going on in your life. Ann crocheted blankets for babies, Sid was remarkable with his wood skills.
(And they both loved the cat named "Sidney".. I will miss them!
My life is better for having known and cared for them!
