Hazel Miller Obituary

August 18, 1920 - December 18, 2017 Hazel Edna Miller, 97, of Hollywood, California, passed away on Dec. 18, 2017.  A devoted mother, loving grandmother and kind soul to everyone she met, Hazel was born in a Hanna City, Illinois, on Aug. 18, 1920.  She attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and was selected to be the homecoming queen, likely because of her intelligence, charisma, and natural beauty. Hazel moved to Los Angeles and resided in Hollywood, where she gave birth to her daughter, Gail, and worked tirelessly in her full-time job to care for her. She started working for the California Society of Certified Public Accountants in 1948, and spent more than four decades in service to that organization. She retired in 1990 and in 2002 moved to the Windsor retirement community in Glendale, where she lived until her passing.  Hazel will be remembered by all for her kindness, encouragement and smiles. She lived well, aged gracefully, and was loved by all.  Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Edna B. and Walter P. Miller, and her brothers, Robert G. Miller and Walter H. Miller.  She is survived by her daughter, Gail Antabi; her three grandchildren, Bandar, Tarek and Tamer Antabi; two nieces; one nephew; and her close friend, Bob Hagedohm. A memorial service will be held at Windsor, 1230 E. Windsor Road, Glendale, CA at 1:30 pm on Jan. 11.
