Jeanne Crose Obituary

May 21, 1932 - August 3, 2017 Jeanne Preston Crose passed away on August 3, 2017, after a brief battle with lymphoma. Jeanne, a 50-year resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, was born in Seattle, Washington, to Howard H. and Lucy Steele Preston, Howard being dean of the University of Washington School of Business. Jeanne herself graduated from UW in 1953 with a degree in Journalism. As a cub reporter in Moses Lake, Washington, she met John and the two were married in 1954, settling in Seattle where their two boys, Greg and John Jr., were born. Jeanne and John moved to Rolling Hills in 1966, after which Jeanne began her career as a licensed clinical social worker with the County of L.A., earning her MSW at UCLA in 1968. Jeanne's career at the DPSS spanned over 30 years devoted to children's protective services as a caseworker, group supervisor and instructor. She was predeceased by her husband John, brother Frank and sister Anne; survived by sister Mary Belle, son Greg and wife Gloria; son John Jr. and wife Joy; and grandchildren Robert, Michelle and Eric. Donations in lieu of flowers to Toberman Neighborhood Center in San Pedro, CA.
