October 2, 1933 - March 6, 2017 On March 6, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Sherril A. Hops, passed away quietly at home, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Nadine Hops, and children Jeffrey Hops, Jonathan Hops, and Jacqui Meyer. He will be sorely missed by his grandchildren, Emily Hops, Max Hops, and Carrie Meyer, and by daughter-in-law Lori Hops, and sons-in-law Brian Heck and Stan Meyer. Sherril was born October 2, 1933, served in the US Navy during the Korean War, married in 1957, and graduated UCLA in 1959 with a degree in Theater Arts. He made a lifelong career in automotive advertising, served several years on the board of Temple Beth Hillel, where he and the family have been members for almost 50 years. He will always be remembered as a man of remarkable kindness and extraordinary humor. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 9, 11:30 AM, at Mount Sinai Mortuary, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Jewish Family Service Los Angeles.
