I just heard about Aunt Millie's death. Since my father's passing we have only been in touch at holidays. She was a memorable woman!

Millie and I had been friends and pen pals since 1997. I met her and George the year before when I visited their home to talk to him about Boris Karloff and his wife Evelyn, who were longtime cherished friends of theirs. (I later wrote a book about Boris, with George's memories of him included.) Millie and I started writing after George died, and we maintained it ever since. She was very supportive of my writing and shared so many memories of the people she and George knew and worked with. She, too, remembered my birthday every year, often including a poem she wrote for the occasion. I am sorry I will no longer see nor hear from Millie, but will always be grateful for having known her and being part of her life.

Uncle George was my godfather. In almost 60 years of life, Millie never forgot my birthday or my wedding anniversary. She kept our family connection going all these years and I dearly loved and appreciated her for it.
