January 7, 1927 - September 18, 2016 Abe Edward Carr (Ed), 89, of Studio City, California, passed away Sunday, September 18th, 2016 of pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Bonnie Carr, son Stephen Carr (Kathleen), his grandchildren Amanda and Ryan. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Passman of Prairie Village, KS, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was born in Chicago, IL, to William and Ida Carr, the family moved to Kansas City, MO when he was 5, then Abe, Bonnie & Stephen moved to Studio City, CA in 1963. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Grund of Des Moines, IA. He was a WW II Veteran of the Navy, serving as a tail gunner. He attended Missouri University on his release from the Navy where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Delta Fraternity. Abe retired in 2009 from the Insurance Industry where he spent 50 years. He was an all round athlete but loved to play golf spending most days for the past 20 years (puttering around the house). He so loved listening and dancing to the Big Bands of the 40's and good Jazz. Abe will always be remembered for his handsome face, sparkling eyes, brilliant sense of humor, and warm personality that made everyone feel loved and welcome in his presence. He was truly a one of a kind soft hearted man and requests no flowers and any donations are to a charity of your hearts.
