June 7, 1947 - June 9, 2016 Al was born in Brooklyn, NY, June 7,1947 to Alfred and Anna Di Stefano, 2nd of 3 sons. In 1957 the family moved to Calif. Al grew up working in his father's restaurant, Alfredo's on 101st and Vermont. He worked alongside his Dad until he was drafted in 1966. In 1969, he married Daryl Horn, and in 1972, they welcomed son, Johnny. Al worked at Orville & Wilbur's in Manhattan Beach, and in 1977 he opened Di Stefano's Rest. in Westwood Village. For 27 years, he brought great Italian food and his homemade bread to his customers. His musical passion was Frank Sinatra and you could always hear it when at the restaurant. He loved the Dodgers, thoroughbred racing and over his lifetime spent many days at Hollywood Park, Santa Anita, and Del Mar with his older brother John, and his son Johnny. Al was preceded in death by his mother, father and brothers. He is survived by his wife Daryl, son Johnny, daughter-in-law Miranda, grandson Vincent, nieces Dina and Aubry, sisters-in-law Beth and Nora, and Sassy. Memorial Mass will be held at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, 7/23/16 at 11AM.
