Allan Kaplan Obituary
July 9, 1950 - January 1, 2016 Allan's death a year ago from a heart attack at his home in Westchester affects us still. An all-around nice guy, Allan's life was filled with friends, music, wow/now audio and visual technology and all-things Disney. He went to Westchester High School and Cal State Dominguez Hills. A near lookalike of his older brother, Howard Kaylan of The Turtles, Allan was a superb singer and instrumentalist in his own right, with a gorgeous tenor voice. For many years, Allan sang with the Oriana madrigal group and the Ventura Master Chorale. He spent much of his work life behind-the-scenes in music and entertainment, from wholesale record distribution at City1Stop to quality control at Warner Bros. Allan would be the first on the block to own a 3D camera. And he had quite a collection of recording equipment. His love of Disney animation and theme parks started as a kid and was just as strong as an adult. His imitation of Donald Duck's voice was perfection. We miss you, Allan the Duck!
