Allen Macneil "Mac" Stelle Obituary
August 30, 1920 - May 17, 2015 Allen Macneil Stelle "Mac" passed peacefully on May 17, in Thousand Oaks. At Stanford, he met and married Alice Condee, his wife for 73 years. Mac was hired for North American Aviation's atomic reactor program in 1950 and retired from Rockwell International in 1981. Mac will be remembered for his civic involvements, which have left indelible marks on Hidden Hills, Calabasas, Agoura, and beyond. Recognizing that water scarcity was a regional problem, he helped create and became a director of the Las Virgenes MWD and represented LVMWD as a director of the Metropolitan Water District, which brought water to the region in 1963. Mac was a leader in the incorporation of the City of Hidden Hills, his home for 51 years. After their 5 children had grown, Mac and Alice parented 17 teenage foster children. They also visited every continent. Mac was pre-deceased by his eldest son Larry Stelle. He is survived by his wife Alice, and son Doug (Cheryl) of San Clemente and daughters Debbie of Canoga Park, Betsy Blum (Mark) of Coarsegold, Jeanie Blount (Bob) of Truckee, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life was held May 30th.
