Obituary Condolences

March 3, 1936 - August 12, 2015 Ann Dorinne "Andy" Alexander died peacefully in her home at age 79 after a 20-month battle with leukemia. A lifelong community activist and teacher, Andy was a patron and friend to the Culver City Public Library, a docent at the Skirball Cultural Center, a co-founder of the Culver City Youth Health Center and deeply involved with Temple Akiba. She participated in many civic activities with her husband Alex, who served on the city council for 16 years. Andy's last wishes are that people care about others and extend themselves beyond themselves; that they not only be kind, but be kinder. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Alexander (Fred Eines, Metuchen, NJ), Deborah Alexander (Culver City) and Kim Alexander (Bob Stanton, Sacramento, CA). A memorial service will be held August 14, 10 a.m. at Temple Akiba, 5249 South Sepulveda Blvd, in Culver City. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to support Temple Akiba, www.templeakiba.net. and the Sandy Segal Youth Health Center, sandysegalyouthhealthcenter.org.
