Ann Eloise Brown Obituary
January 6, 1928 - February 3, 2018 Ann E. Brown, daughter of GMCM Joseph P. Brown (WWII USN) and Ethel B. Rush, passed away on Feb 3, 2018 in Edmonds, WA at the age of 90. She is survived by Rear Admiral Annette E. Brown, USN (ret) and Jeffrey A. Brown. Her husband Ward E. Brown pre-deceased Ann in 1983. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ann graduated from George Washington High School in 1946. She graduated from UCLA in 1951 with a B.S. in Special Secondary Homemaking. During her college years she worked in food service at Yosemite's Camp Curry and Ahwahnee Hotel. While there she met her husband Ward, a WWII USN pilot. They married in 1949 in Los Angeles and moved to Germany in 1952. In the early 1960s she obtained a General Teaching Credential from the State of California and began working for the 7th Army Corps in southern Germany as a teacher of soldiers. Returning to the States in 1966, she continued teaching at Fort Belvoir, VA. In 1973, she earned a B.S. in Accounting as well as a M.A. in Education from Virginia Tech. Ann began her second career in 1974 as a budget analyst for the Army, Navy and Air Force (in various locations) until 1999 when she retired to Everett, WA. Ann requested that no memorial service or viewing take place.
