Sister Antoinette (Raphael) Tripaldi Obituary
April 16, 1928 - May 30, 2016 A Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary for 68 years, Sister Antoinette (Raphael) Tripaldi, died on May 30, 2016, at the age of 88, at Kindred Hospital in Los Angeles. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1928, she made her Novitiate in Tarrytown, New York. She received a BA from Marymount College, Los Angeles, and an MS from the University of Southern California, as well as her teaching credentials. Sister Antoinette was a dedicated and well-loved teacher all her life. She taught one year at Marymount, Rome; 4 years at St. Alphonsus, Los Angeles; 12 years at Corvallis High School; 19 years at SHM High School; 5 years at Instituto Marymount, Cuernavaca, Mexico. While in New York, ministering to her family for 2 years, she taught ESL at the Spanish American Institute. In later years she was a substitute teacher of ESL in the Los Angeles Unified School District and at Community Centers, Inc. For 12 years she volunteered at the LAX Food Pantry. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She will be greatly missed by her RSHM Sisters, her nieces and nephews, especially, Dan and Joe McGlynn and Anne Parchen, students and many friends. Mass of the Resurrection will be at Sacred Heart of Mary Convent Chapel, 441 North Garfield Avenue, Montebello, on Thursday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. After a light lunch, burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5838 West Slauson Avenue, Culver City at approximately 1:30 p.m.
