Arden W. YEAM Obituary
January 16, 1927 - March 12, 2017 A grateful nation mourns the passing of great American, Major Arden "Ace" Yeam. Born in rural North Dakota, Ace started as a humble farmer helping on his father's farm. After moving to Long Beach, CA, Ace graduated from Poly High and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He served with honor in the battle of Okinawa before spending two years as a China Marine after the end of hostilities. During the Korean War, Ace attended Officer's Candidate School and served in Vietnam as a Logistics Officer. After 24 years of service, Ace retired in 1968, as a Major. Ace, his wife (Janet) and two children settled in Seal Beach, CA. After 49 years of marriage, Janet passed away in 1999. In 2000, Ace remarried Martha Barron, who died in 2016. Ace moved to Atria Golden Creek, Irvine, in 2013 suffering from Alzheimer's. Among his many accomplishments, Ace was the Seal Beach Man of the Year, ran for Seal Beach City Council in 1998, and was National Parts Manager for Toyota Motor Sales, USA for 15 years. Arden is survived by his brother (Arville), his children (Kevin & Karen) and three grandchildren (Cassandra, Amanda and Nicole). Ace shall be interred at Riverside National Cemetery on March 17, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Ace's name to the .
