Arthur Toll Obituary
March 3, 1927 - August 28, 2016 Arthur Toll, of Beverly Hills, passed away on the morning of Sunday, August 28. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and earned his law degree at Case Western Reserve University, eventually becoming the youngest assistant attorney general in Ohio at the age of 23. At 27 he served as chief counsel for the Public Accounts subcommittee of the House Committee on Government Operations. Arthur was co-owner of two successful law schools, Western State University of Law in Orange County and Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, and was in private practice in Beverly Hills for many years, representing Priscilla Presley and Cher among other luminaries. He was a lifelong and fervent fan of the Browns, Indians, Rams and Dodgers, and prior to Super Bowl I in 1967 he sued the NFL to prevent a blackout in Los Angeles of the game. Art coached Little League in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, and he played tennis at Mulholland Tennis Club well into his eighties, until he became "the fastest of the old guys." He and his devoted wife Charlotte were world travellers for decades, and in 2007 they hosted the entire family of 25 people on a Mediterranean cruise. Arthur and Charlotte were married for 69 years, parents to five sons (Chuck, Roger, Larry, Jim and Dan), grandparents of twelve and great-grandparents of two.
