July 30, 1920 - January 19, 2016 August DeAngelo entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 after 95 beautiful years of prosperity, love, hard work and happiness. Augie was born in Detroit, Michigan July 30th, 1920 and grew up the son of an Italian immigrant. The youngest of 9 children, Augie was as tenacious as he was talented. Helping his father run Red Seal Potato Chip Company, and working as a tool & die maker before being drafted into the military during WWII as a P.O.W. guard. He opened the first drive-in pizza restaurant in all of Michigan, called Lucky Star and married his wife Frances in 1946. He then moved to California with his family in 1961. An amateur golfer, bowler and co-founder of Clothestime, Augie and his 3 sons went on to make a name for themselves as a prominent family of LA and Orange County. August is survived by his loving wife & soulmate of 70 years Frances DeAngelo, his four children Sam, Michael, Raymond and Debbie, and his 41 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. A public viewing & funeral service will be held on Monday, January 25th from 10am-1pm at Fairhaven Memorial at 1702 Fairhaven Ave. Tustin, CA 92705 in the Waverly Chapel. Your smile and love for life will be missed by all who knew you, rest in peace grandpa. "Life is a precious gift, live everyday to the fullest.
