Barbara DeVorzon Obituary
January 30, 1935 - October 14, 2016 Barbara DeVorzon passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2016. She is survived by her twin daughters Dana and Stacy, grandchildren Madison and Tyler, son-in-law Vincent, her brother Barry, sister-in-law Jelinda, her nephews Michael, Matthew, and Daniel, her aunt, Betty Dranow, and numerous loving friends and relations. Barbara was born in Palm Springs, California on January 30, 1935. Barbara and her brother Barry grew up in Palm Springs in a very loving home provided by their devoted parents Evelyn and Jules DeVorzon. She opened an Art Gallery in 1968, specializing in 20th Century Master prints and later operated it from her elegant home in Beverly Hills. The DeVorzon Gallery played a vital part in enhancing the LA art scene. In 1981 she had a major setback to her health when her kidneys failed. During this period she never once complained. It was this positive spirit that made her such a vibrant force and always got her through difficult times. When she needed a second kidney transplant, a dear friend, Kristoffer Winters in an incredible act of generosity gifted her with one of his. The entire DeVorzon family will be forever grateful to him for giving her those many additional years. She had a great sense of humor, was a true beauty, and fabulous inside and out. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, may she rest in peace and know that her zest for life will forever live on in our hearts and memories.
