Beatrice Alpert Wolfe Obituary
August 12, 1926 - October 28, 2017 After a long battle with Alzheimer's, Beatrice Wolfe died peacefully in Rancho Mirage, CA, at the age of 91. Beatrice Alpert was born in Los Angeles, California, to Mendel and Fanny Alpert. Bea graduated from L.A. City College and worked for the L.A. County Mental Health Department as a medical transcriber. In 1948, Bea married Edwin Wolfe and stayed home to raise their family. Bea dedicated her life to fundraising and helping those in need. She spent over 60 years raising funds and volunteering for the City of Hope Hospital and was a life member of the Pasadena League of Women Voters, where she chaired numerous political studies. She was most proud of her 20-year affiliation with Friends Outside, where she visited weekly with women inmates in the Los Angeles County Jail. Beatrice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Edwin Wolfe. She is survived by daughters Helena Wolfe Wilson (Bugsy) and Diane Wolfe Marcks (Richard); grandsons, James Wolfe and Rick Marcks; granddaughter, Stephanie Marcks Weisman (Jordan); brother, Ralph Alpert, and two great-granddaughters. Arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society. There will be no public service.
