Bennett Levitt Wolf Obituary
June 20, 1929 - September 2, 2015 Bennett Wolf passed away peacefully on September 02, 2015, surrounded by his loved ones at Cedars Sinai Hospital. He was born in Mason City, Iowa on June 20, 1929 to Julius and Nettie Wolf, before they moved to Des Moines. At the age of 14, his parents and siblings, Donald and Susan moved to Beverly Hills, California. He attended Beverly Hills High School, UCLA and Cal Berkeley. He began his career working alongside his father and brother for Dial Finance, founded by his grandfather, Jacob Levitt. As an executive for 35 years, Bennett assisted with the growth of the company, until it was sold to Norwest Financial in 1982. He then formed B & D Management with his brother and for the past 34 years, they provided financial management and advisory services to family members, businesses and non-profit organizations. In 1955 he married Susanne Alter who he met in Sunday school at Wilshire Boulevard Temple. This long lasting love produced three children, Teresa (Terry), David and Brian. They raised their family in West Los Angeles and were married for over 50 years until her passing, eight years ago. After Sue's passing he found a wonderful companion, Lynn Kreinman. The two of them had the time of their lives, traveling and socializing with their many friends. He made a commitment to give back to his community. He contributed to countless non-profit organizations in Los Angeles County. Along with other major charitable organizations, He served as a Board member for the Jewish Home for the Aging for over 25 years, where he provided financial support and advise to ensure the success of those organizations. Bennett had a strong love for UCLA Football & Basketball, Dodgers and Lakers. His lifelong passion was golf, where he excelled in the sport and found time to teach his sons how to play with integrity and spirit. He was a member of Brentwood County Club. He served on numerous Golf committees in Sothern California to help ensure the legacy of the game. His mantle of Golf trophies and championships spans more than 50 years Bennett Wolf was preceded by his wife Sue, his parents and his sister Susan. Bennett is survived by his children Terry, David (Karen), Brian (Jennifer) and his six beautiful grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Samantha, Jaxon, Georgie, and Dylan, who he loved so much. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held for Bennett at Hillside Memorial Cemetery, 6001 W. Centinela Ave. LA, CA 90045, on Sunday September 6 beginning at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates contributions in Bennett's name to be made to the Jewish Home for the Aging, 7150 Tampa Ave, Reseda, CA 91335
