June 24, 1925 - February 2, 2016 Born in Illinois, living in Chicago and Clarendon Hills prior to California. Parents Louis A. Yoost and Leah Arvilla Reynolds-Yoost. Youngest of four, she is survived by daughter Joanne and nephew Michael Plummer. Married to Charles B. Plummer in 1949. They were graced with two children James Charles (1953-2000) and Joanne Lea (1958-present). The family moved to California in the late 50s where her father was residing. In 1962, the family moved into their first house in Hacienda Heights where she lived until her passing. Betty's first and only love was her husband Charles (1924 - 1980). She adored family and friends who were her reason for living. Betty enjoyed the beach, changing of the seasons, gardening, entertaining and commemorating life's special moments. Betty had multiple philanthropic endeavors. Local care provider groups, public broadcasting, many veterans groups and animal protection agencies benefited from her generosity. Betty loved sporting events, patriotic celebrations, theater and again being with family and friends. All children were her delight. Always being there for someone with a tasty casserole or pie, perfectly wrapped gift or wry humor will be a lasting memory for all. Services: February 11, 2016 3:00 pm. Hillside Chapel - Rose Hills Memorial. Flowers may be sent to Rose Hills Memorial Park or donations may be made to the ASPCA, Foot and Mouth Painters, World War II Memorial (New Orleans) or any U.S. Veterans groups.
