July 25, 1930 - April 1, 2017 Bettye Gray Woodworth passed away peacefully in San Diego on April 1, 2017. She was born to William & Bernice in Columbia, MS. Bettye graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, MO., after which she became a stewardess for Eastern Airlines. It was while working for the airlines that she met the love of her life, Ralph. They married, moved to Germany for 2 years then back to the U.S. where they settled in CA. to raise their family. Bettye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & friend. She was known for her generosity, thoughtfulness, love of horses, gourmet cooking & devotion to family & friends. She was a member of the Mary Duque Guild of Children's Hospital L.A., Rotary Ann's. DAR, PEO, Stephen's College Alumnae & Bel Air Presbyterian Church Bettye is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ralph M. Woodworth, daughter Heidi Brenchley, son Scott Woodworth (Jane) & grandchildren Christopher & Harper. Her brothers Barron & Bill predeceased her. Mom, you were loved & admired by all who knew you. You will be missed everyday but forever in our hearts & memories. You were a true Southern Belle. A celebration of Life will be held at Bel Air Presbyterian Church May 12.
