Beverly Josephine Daic Obituary
August 22, 1924 - June 2, 2017 Beverly Josephine Daic, also known by her married names Beverly D. Rush and Beverly R. Taber, passed away just shy of her 93rd birthday on June 2, 2017 in Coupeville on Whidbey Island, WA following a short but unsuccessful battle with pneumonia. Beverly was born on August 22, 1924 at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, CA, to parents Joseph Walter Daic and Julia Marguerite (Coig) Daic of Calabasas, CA. Beverly grew up in Calabasas, attended school in the town's one-room school house, but graduated from Canoga Park High School in 1942. She was married twice and had four children, all boys. Beverly was employed in the aero-space industry at Litton Industries, ITT, and finally Lockheed. Her hobbies included circuit board art, travel, cooking with her children, puzzles of all kinds, painting, crotchet and needlepoint. Beverly retired in the late 1970s and eventually relocated from California to Washington State. Beverly is survived by her sister, Roslyn Daic Hirshfeld and nephew Mark A. Hirshfeld as well as by each of her four sons George Coig Rush, Glenn Keith Rush, Fred Walter Rush, and Michael Dwayne (Taber) Rush. Beverly is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A family service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 22601 Lassen Street, Chatsworth, California 91311; telephone (818) 341-0344. The location in the cemetery is section "F", lot 237, space "4". Look for a canopy and chairs. A family get-together, reception and "wake" will be held at the residence of the decedent's son Glenn immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer's disease research would be appreciated.
