Beverly "Bubbles" Zacharias Obituary
September 12, 1922 - February 1, 2016 Beverly "Bubbles" Zacharias was born in Chicago where she grew up with her adored younger brother Eddie, and her beloved parents Dorothy and Abraham Stolman. Our generous and artistic Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother will be remembered for the love she showered on people and her natural generosity as a listener. Married to Richard Zacharias for 47 years, they raised three children in Highland Park, IL, Steven (Marcia), Daniel (Emily), and Nancy (Gary Freedman). Bubbles doted over her seven grandchildren...Ali, Rachel, Jon, Robert, Ricky Zacharias, and Zack (Heather) and Eric (Beth) Freedman. She leaves five great-grandchildren....Finn, Zadie, Laura, Brent, Giles Freedman. Blessed with a beautiful face as well as a genteel nature, Bubbles modeled as a teenager. She had an ambitious sense of design. She had great passion for the visual arts and expressed it through collecting and supporting artists. Her kindness and generosity as a hostess put her at the center of a devoted group of friends that came to be like family. And, she opened her home to travelers from around the world. Bubbles will be missed by all who knew her, and the memory of her is precious. Bubbles lost a dear childhood friend, Ferne Millman, who succumbed to Polio in the 60's. She has been a surrogate mother to Ferne's daughters, Peggy Belmonti and Joan Schnadig. The family is indebted to her caretakers, Vickie Reyes, Chita Villas and Percy de la Rosa, who were Bubbles' angels during her last chapter. Donations may be made in Bubbles' name to: Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center, 4275 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL 60031
