Burton S. Sternau Obituary
Burton S. 'Doc' Sternau, Loving husband and father, DVM. He had a wonderful life. Born in West LA, to Mary and Milton Sternau, he graduated from University High School in 1943. He served as an Army (Air Division) communications specialist in WWII. Following his service , he enrolled at UC Davis achieving a B.S. in Animal Science in 1951 & as a Veterinarian in 1956. He fell in love with Rosalie Goldberg on their 1st date and married in June of 1953. They had 4 children and were married for 61 years . They moved to Glendale and he became Glendale's Veterinarian, practicing medicine at Park View Pet Clinic for 33 years, retiring in 1989. He was a 48 year member of the Glendale Elks Lodge and the Charter Organization Representative for the Boy Scout Troop 118. His Friendship of community had no bonds. He loved his family, friendships, cabin in Big Bear, snow skiing until he was 88yo, fishing, hiking, sailing ,bicycling, gardening and crafting. He is survived by their children Mike (Patti), Carol(Richard), Dan, Julie(Ron), grandchildren Justin(Jennifer), David, Cody, Ian, and great grandchildren, Penelope and Stephanie. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Boy Scouts of America, Verdugo Hills Council, 1325 Grandview Ave, Glendale Ca. 91201 Doc was celebrated at a private family service.
