C. Scott Milne Obituary
1931 - 2016 Scott Milne, whose 'brand' was established long before that identifying term was used to describe one's image as an asset, has died. Milne was known by all as a 'pioneer' in the entertainment insurance industry. He was revolutionary in his thinking. Ingenious. Influential. He opened up new perspectives both in the insurance market and the film community and altered people's reasoning about how to fairly underwrite the risk of film and television production. Although he did not physically participate in the art or craft of film production, Milne, through his company, Albert G. Ruben & Company, provided a service and protection intrinsic to the making of a movie. A joyous 'Celebration of the Life of Scott Milne' will be held on February 15, 2017 at 2:30pm at the Old North Church, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills where tributes, eulogies and entertaining anecdotes will be given by family, friends and business associates. The culmination of the day will be a 'Happy Hour', where we will all raise our glasses in tribute to him. The location is the SmokeHouse Restaurant, 4420 W. Lakeside Drive, Burbank, CA. Join in the celebration and feel free to inform his many other friends and business associates. Please email responses as to attendance to [email protected] Scott leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, his 'BFF' of 35 years, Bette; his two children, C. Scott Milne III and Alyson, borne to his marriage to Jacqueline Robertson in 1951; his three step-children from his marriage to Bette Smith in 1981, Sheree, Timothy and Bill; seven beautiful grandchildren; his brother, Richard; and, scores of nephews, nieces, cousins, dear friends and business associates, all of whom loved him dearly and will cherish his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations will be welcomed in his memory at Tower Cancer Research Foundation, 8767 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 401, Beverly Hills, CA 90211. Contact Monica at 310-844-0269.
