February 1, 1960 - March 7, 2017 Carl passed away at home in Redondo Beach at age 57. He died from complications from exposure to Mycobacterium Chimaera during earlier open heart surgery. He is survived by his husband of 27 years, Henri Paul Faucher, parents Celia Maravilla and John Maravilla, mother-in-law, Anne Vasquez, and siblings, Lucille, Juan, Ernest, Thomas, Philip and Michele. He is missed by his extended family and many friends. Carl was raised in Pueblo, CO. He graduated from Stanford University with his BS in Chemical Engineering. He was a proud member of the Stanford Chicano Latino Alumni Association. He started his career at TRW and worked in the industry for 20 years. In 2002, he started as a Private Financial Adviser and was respected by his clients and colleagues. Carl was a world class runner and competed in almost every Gay Games, winning countless gold, silver and bronze medals. He was a member of the Los Angeles Frontrunners and Club Rotario de Latinos Unidos. Carl was a renaissance man who enjoyed creative arts, dance, cooking, and traveling the world with Henri. They created a beautiful home, "Casa Maria," where they planted a beautiful butterfly garden. To know Carl was to know his kindness, generosity and giving nature. He was an absolute gentleman, had the most beautiful smile, giving heart and supported many causes. A Mass will be held May 19th at 10AM, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Denver, CO. A memorial to be held in L.A. at a later date.
