Carol Corper Hoover Obituary
1925 - 2016 HOOVER, Carol Corper (1925-2016) died peacefully of natural causes at her home of over 60 years in San Marino, CA on Leap Year Day evening, February 29, 2016. Born in Chicago, IL and raised in the Evanston area, one of her proud achievements was working as a Candy Striper at the local hospital rubbing elbows from time to time with her father, a prominent and well respected physician in the area. She attended Northwestern University, obtained a degree in Education, and was a "Proud DG" as she would say. She met, and shortly after graduation, married John (Jack) C. Hoover. They moved west to San Marino, CA within a few years and started to build their lives together. Carol (or "Red" as many called her because of her beautiful red hair) was active as a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts, a volunteer to the local Little League Baseball, and had special passions for various organizations, as an active member and volunteer in the Junior League of Pasadena, the National Charity League, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles to name just a few. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Pamela Carolyn Hoover in 2000 and her husband John (Jack) Cleary Hoover in 2003. Carol is survived by her twin sons, Tim Hoover (Debra) and Mick Hoover (Janis), Elisabeth Weisner, her very special "other" daughter, her brother-in law, H. Earl (Bud) Hoover (Barbara) and her most amazing, loyal and dedicated caregiver and best friend for over 24 years, Ivonne Tanuwijaya, Carol is also survived by numerous grand and step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored. Plans for a private family gathering at Forest Lawn on the morning of Friday, April 15, 2016 will then be followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at St. Edmund's Episcopal Church 1175 San Gabriel Blvd. (just north of Huntington Dr.) in San Marino with a reception in the Fellowship Hall there on the Church grounds immediately following the service. In reflection of her passing, there is, perhaps, a great comfort for all of us in the realization that Carol Hoover has not "gone" ¿ she has just "gone-on". Cabot & Sons, Pasadena
