Carolyn "Lynn" Cancilla Obituary
November 7, 1925 - February 1, 2016 Lynn Cancilla passed away surrounded by her family in Huntington Beach. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 13 at Pacific View Chapel in Corona Del Mar at 10:00 am. Lynn was born to George and Eva Randol in Maxwell, Iowa. She attended Oregon State University where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She earned an A.A. degree in medical technology. She loved music and played the trombone in big bands throughout her college years. She married Edward Cancilla in 1948. Ed and Lynn raised four daughters in Southern California. Lynn enjoyed bowling, paddle tennis, bridge and volunteering for Children's Hospital of Orange County. She later served as President for CHOC. Her loves included chocolate, antiques, Christmas, burgers, shakes and fries, shopping, travel and relaxing at her condos in Lake Arrowhead and Newport Beach. Lynn is survived by daughters Susan Cancilla (CO), Jane Terry and her husband Dan (CA), Jean Rustemeyer and husband Tom (CA) and Joan Cancilla and partner, Jeanne Dore (MA). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Ned, Chris, Byron, Mike and Kerrilyn and 4 great-grandchildren: Deklyn, William, Bryson and Juliet.
