Charles Francis Allen III Obituary
November 10, 1940 - May 16, 2015 Charles Francis Allen III passed away from natural causes in Salt Lake City, UT while visiting family. He was 74. ¿ Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Charlie grew up on the Colorado River Indian Reservation in Parker, Arizona. He attended Arizona State College at Flagstaff, studying education and fine art. Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Education, Charlie moved to California and began a fifty-year-long career teaching junior high and high school in the Bellflower Unified School District. Charlie went on to earn a M.S. in Education at CSUFullerton. He found teaching so rewarding that when asked when he planned to retire, he would often answer "As soon as I find something more fun to do." A man of uncommon talents and wide-ranging interests, art was integral to Charlie's life, even though he described himself modestly as a "sometime artist." He was well-known among local artists and beloved for his involvement with the Koroneburg Renaissance Festival. Charlie is survived by his daughter, Heather, brother John, sister Margaret, and many beloved friends. He will always be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to teaching, and generous heart that warmed and inspired friends, family, and students alike. Charlie will be dearly missed.¿ A memorial service will take place on Sat, June 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m., at the Mission Inn, located at 3649 Mission Inn Ave, Riverside, CA. All are welcome at the service and are also invited to a memorial exhibit of his artwork on Sun, June 21st at the dA Center for the Arts, 252 S. Main St. Pomona, CA, 4-9pm.
