Charles Phillip Gatti Obituary
August 6, 1934 - May 19, 2017 Charles "Chuck" passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2017 in Covina, California. He was 82 years old. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, his family moved to California where they made their home in Alhambra. After graduation Charles married his high school sweetheart, Mary Katherine. They had one daughter, Linda. Charles was the head purchasing agent for the County of Los Angeles. They lived in Arcadia and began their horse training business, Rainbow Canyon Ranch. Charles would work all day then come home and work at the ranch. As the business grew they moved to Azusa where he and his wife built the equestrian center from the ground up. Charles was known for his sense of humor, his kind heart, the twinkle in his eye, his love of the ocean and a good book, going to Angel's games, fishing and traveling to Hawaii. He enjoyed a good meal and a gin and tonic with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Linda Sears, son-in-law Tony Sears and granddaughters Rachael and Claire Sears. He will be greatly missed by so many. A private Celebration with Family will be held on June 5th. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Charles' name to Surfrider Foundation as a memorial gift.
