She loved school and graduated near the top of her high school class. She loved to sing and was a member of the choir. As a teenager she enjoyed spending time with her cousins and friends. They frequently visited London and attended many movies, plays and shows. At age 19, Christine sailed on the Queen Elizabeth to Long Island, New York and settled there for a couple of years. In the early 1950's she moved to Toronto, Canada. While in Canada she met and married Al Fernandes. They had a daughter, Valerie. Also in Canada, Christine met her closest friends, Jeri and Bill Cowley. Christine, Al, Jeri, Bill and Valerie (age 2) drove cross country to Los Angeles. They have all remained in Southern California ever since. In the mid 1960's Christine met Joe GianFrancesco (owner of the Sherman Oaks newsstand) They dated for many years and eventually married.
