Chun "John" Lee Obituary
October 31, 1949 - February 6, 2018 Chun "John" Lee left his physical form after an incredible 68 years filled with integrity, resilience, and pure courage. Born in Seoul in 1949, John, at a very young age, helped his family rebuild after the devastation of the Korean War. Like his father Hak Phil Lee and mother Soon Nyu Lee, John lived ahead of his time despite external circumstances. He loved climbing the family's many enormous fruit trees, playing with the family dog, and enjoying a beer with his friends. In 1973, John graduated from Korea University with a degree in Food Science and invented products at Haitai, several of which are still sold today. His family immigrated to the United States in 1980 and they all became US citizens soon afterwards. John loved the American life and made Fullerton his home for many years. He thrived as a business owner (La Mirada Garden, with his wife Susan) and in real estate in Southern California and possessed a tenacity that paved the way for many others in the community. Despite working every single day, he always remembered to also have fun. John loved fishing, road trips, their little Yorkie named Muki, watching boxing, listening to Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, and Barry White-and most of all, spending time with his beloved grandson, Blaze Lee Constant. John is lovingly survived by his wife Susan, daughters Linda and Jessica, son-in-law Nikos, and grandson and best buddy Blaze, who he will ALWAYS accompany and guide through life as long as time and the universe exists. John's memorial will be on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm at California Mortuary in Downey. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at Rose Hills in Whittier. We love you, Dad.
