Claire Ethel Kay Obituary
November 30, 1927 - April 30, 2016 Born in Buffalo, NY, Claire became an RN during WWII & married Irving Kay in 1948. They moved to Southern California in 1955, where they raised their 3 children. Claire worked as an RN in convalescent homes, tending to the elderly for many years. She loved to crochet, especially afghans and baby blankets, and was an expert at jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She and Irving moved to Leisure Village in Camarillo in 2010, making new friends and enjoying the Tuesday evening band practices. Claire was predeceased by her older brothers Sam and Murray Yosim. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Irving, her children Shirley, Barbara (David Sato), Jack (Susan), and grandchildren Matt, Melissa and Alex Sato, and Rachel, Sarah and Jacob Kay. Services were held on May 3 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park. We will miss her wit, tenacity, smile, and her warm hugs. Donations in Claire's memory can be made to the Jewish National Fund (www.jnf.org)
