Constance KOFAHL Obituary
Passed away on June 10, 2016 in her home in Pasadena at age 91. Beloved wife of David C. Kofahl, daughter of Edna and Herman Frank, sister of James, Marcia and Jerald. She was a devoted and generous friend who gave strength and joy to many. Born in St. Maries, Idaho, December 15, 1924, she came to California with her family in 1933, where they settled in Bakersfield. There she attended Standard School and Kern County Union High School. She and her future husband, David C. Kofahl, attended Stanford University and were married following WW II in 1946. They raised four children in Bakersfield, Palos Verdes Estates and Wilton, Connecticut, before embarking on an expatriate life overseas in Sydney, Australia and London, England. A true world traveler, she loved "the far reaches of the 7 continents," and meeting people from all cultures. She and David returned to Pasadena in 1980 where they led a life filled with family, friends, golf, travel, and Stanford football games. David C. Kofahl passed away in 1990. Connie was active in The Town Club, The Junior League of Pasadena, Stanford Alumni Association, Huntington Art Gallery Docents, Cal Tech Associates and Cal Tech Y, and Our Savior Lutheran Church. In recent years she found purpose and joy in her Lutheran faith, her friends, and with her siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Marcia Tucker, sister-in-law Twyla Frank, her children David F. Kofahl, Mardi Caruso, Victor Kofahl and his wife Lee Kofahl, her grandchildren Bianca Kofahl, Georgia Kofahl, Constance Caruso, and step-grandchildren Holly Anderson, Damian Daniels, Luke Daniels, and Jill Andrews, and by her great-grandchildren Charlie Anderson, Kenadie Daniels, and Hannah Andrews. After a private interment at Forest Lawn, Glendale, her Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 835 Duarte Road, Arcadia at 11 am, Saturday, June 25, 2016. She asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Cal Tech Y and Our Savior Lutheran Church.
