August 28, 1941 - August 15, 2015 Our beloved Coulter Gipson Sr. (aka David Gipson) 73, went home to be with our Lord & Savior August 15, 2015 in Gardena, CA. Gipson was born August 28, 1941 in Bivins, TX, the son of James Truman Gipson & Dana Lee Smith. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Atlanta, TX in 1959 & was drafted into the Los Angeles Dodgers, Minor Baseball League shortly thereafter. Gipson traveled to California & fulfilled his dream of Entrepreneurship, specializing in Fiberglass & Plastics. To cherish, preserve & continue his legacy, he is survived by his two sons, David Gipson Jr. of Los Angeles, CA & DeShon Gipson of Moreno Valley, CA. One daughter, Sherri Gipson-Perkins of Brentwood, CA. Twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister; Pearlie Faye Gipson-Rodgers of Los Angeles, CA. Four brothers, Troy Gipson and Lowell Gipson of Compton, CA, James Gipson of Dumas, AR & Ronnie Gipson of Bivins, TX. One Godbrother; Earl Brown of Compton, CA. A Homegoing Service will be held at Citizens of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 12930 S. Lime Ave. Compton CA. Saturday, August 22nd. Please call the church for further details at (310) 638-0536.
