Cynthia Lee "Cyndi" Douglas Obituary
October 8, 1962 - October 14, 2017 Cynthia Lee Douglas "Cyndi" (née Spang) died peacefully in Burbank on Oct.14, 2017, at the age of 55. Cyndi is survived by her brother Ron Spang (Deborah), nieces Jennifer Muhlenbruck (Chad) and Kimberly Biondolillo, and former husband Chuck Douglas. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and William Spang. Cyndi was born on October 8, 1962 in Burbank, California. She graduated from John Burroughs High School in 1980. Then went on to the University of California at Santa Barbara to pursue a medical degree. That wasn't to be, because she met and married her husband Chuck in 1983. Cyndi joined Chuck's business, Precise Roofing, and followed her heart doing every manner of animal rescue. She always said, "Everybody helps kids, I'll help the animals". No animal was too sick or too small or common for Cyndi to rescue. The visiting vet made regular trips to their home. If you legally owned a pot belly pig in the city of Burbank you can thank Cyndi. She got the first one and successfully campaigned for their acceptance, winning the right to consider them a lawful home pet. Cyndi was idolized by her nieces Jennifer and Kimberly and has had a lasting influence on them. Although the marriage didn't last, the friendship did, and Chuck cared for Cyndi throughout her illness. There will be a private interment of ashes at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.
