David I. Temianka Obituary
January 24, 1957 - June 13, 2016 David Temianka, 59, died unexpectedly at home on June 13, 2016. An artist, writer and storyteller, David was the son of noted violinist and conductor, Henri Temianka, and Emmy Temianka, an accomplished sculptor. He attended high school at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, received his Bachelor's Degree from UC Berkeley and obtained his MFA from UCLA. David loved storytelling in all forms. He was a successful painter and photographer and, most recently, he was passionately working on personal essays and short stories. His work was praised by and featured on noteworthy shows such as NPR's Snap Judgment, The Lapse, Story Worthy, Shine, and This Is Actually Happening and published in literary journals. Up until the moment of his passing, David was optimistic and fully engaged in his artistic endeavors. David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Margaret Stone, and his sons, Julian and Jonah Temianka. His extended family includes his brother, Dan (Zeinab), sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Julia and Jeffrey Golden, mother-in-law, Marilouise Morgan, as well as nieces and nephews. Services will be private, but the family plans a celebration of David's life later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, Post Office Box 7275, Mammoth Lakes, California 93546.
