David Rose Obituary
February 22, 1959 - June 24, 2016 We are heartbroken to share the news of the sudden death of our beloved father, brother, friend, Harry David Rose III (son of Harry David Rose Jr. and Florence Joy Greist), who passed suddenly on June 24, 2016. David was born in Akron (OH), he grew up in Westport (CT) and graduated with a B.A. from Westminster College (PA). His career began at The Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington DC. He later moved to New York City and finally settled in Los Angeles. His career spanned thirty years of acting and directing. He was particularly renowned for his prolific work at the Colony Theater in Burbank, directing more than 50 plays. David was a profoundly gifted human being and his talents were innumerable; his storytelling abilities and sense of humor were second to none, his wit profound, his heart generous beyond measure. He brightened all our lives and was a helping hand to everyone he knew. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his siblings Martha Joy Rose and Darton Scott Rose, his sons Harry David Rose IV and Jackson Dillard Rose, his ex-wife Denise Dillard, and his numerous nieces and nephews as well as the families of his cherished friends. A memorial will be held at the Colony Theater (555 N 3rd St, Burbank, CA) on Thursday, July 7th at 6:30pm. RSVP on the Colony Theater Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/293516204325311/. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Actors Fund - www.actorsfund.org (in Memory of David Rose).
